Amanda
who blogs at Lilahbility suggested this week’s topic “10 Things that are
Completely Impractical.” I was very a little confused because I would
never, EVER buy anything that was impractical!
Not
one to give up I decided to scour the house to see if there was anything,
anything at all that could possibly meet the criteria. Sadly…it turns out that everything
in our house is useful/necessary.
For
example…
1.
8
Golf Bags.
Apparently we have 9. I missed one. R and I do not own our own bag; J2 has one; we are storing J1’s which leaves ummmmm 7 for G. I am told golf bags are like underwear…you need a different one for each day of the week.

2.
8
Guitars.
According to J2 all were necessary. Who knew you could play more than one guitar at a time?!?

3.
Picture
frames.
I am prepared for just about any size and shape with the exception of the photos that I want framed. The coloured ones? There are 2 more in the closet. I bought them when the boys were in preschool. Yes they are still in the wrapper. I am still trying to decide on my favourite pics to put in them.

4.
Baseball
hats.
Riley and G are the only ones who always wear baseball hats. I will own up to the pink one and about 3 others in that pile. I could not be bothered to count. There were still more on the top shelf of the closet. For once I am happy I am short.

5.
Seasonal
dishes.
I bought these beauties after Christmas one year for 50% off. It was during my Martha Stewart wannabe stage. Even though they only hold 1 cracker at a time they look amazing in the drawer of the china cabinet.

6.
Candles.
I like options. I have tealights that burn for 2 hours or 4 hours; votives; tapers; heck…I even have battery operated candles. I am earthquake prepared.

As
our hostess Stasha wrote “I struggled to find
one in 6 days” which made me feel a whole lot better. Wait. Maybe not. Since I am struggling I will stop at 6 as in 6 things in 1 day. It is summer
after all.
Be
sure to check out what Stasha’s husband came up with for her list. It is
awesome and almost made me go back and start over…almost.
Hahaha, those picture frames made me laugh so hard! I can totally relate to that. When I moved house last year I must have given away thirty of them :)
ReplyDeleteThose were only the ones that were at arm's length. *sigh* I have such good intentions. ;P
DeleteThis is a grat list list. I can totally relate....my hubby has a weird desire to keep pens, hats, and mugs. I want to scream.
ReplyDeleteI didn't dare show the display of wait for it...golf balls that my husband has. I guess I should be grateful he agreed to put them up downstairs. ;P
DeleteThe accompanying pictures were an awesome idea. Thanks for sharing some seriously good laughs.
ReplyDeleteThank you Wayne. My work is done for the day so I am off to have a nap. :)
DeleteHahahaha!!! The frames are hilarious, as I have so many of my own. I don't think any are still in the wrapper, though. :)
ReplyDeleteGotta say, the golf bags made me laugh the hardest.
I obviously need to pay more attention when he comes home from golf. ;P
DeleteI truly believe we are related lol
ReplyDelete*high five*
DeleteI don't doubt you could find something Christmasy to put in those tree dishes on Pinterest for DIY holiday gifts? Who has to know that they were actually hoarded?
ReplyDeleteBaaaahaaahaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
DeleteI have a billion gajillion frames in their original wrapping too! I thought I was the only one. I was always needing one and had to go out to buy it, so I bought a bunch and now when I need one...I got out to buy it.
ReplyDeletePhew...I only have a billion gazillion. ;)
DeleteYou are NOT alone...sadly, I go out and buy new ones too. Oish.
LOL - now that's a lotta picture frames. I must admit I do buy the tea lights like that. I use them though ;-)
ReplyDeleteThose frames were only the ones that I could grab easily. Yikes!
DeleteI go through a lot of tea lights too. They don't seem to last as long as before. :(
LMAO!!! the golf bags!!
ReplyDeleteSure. You can laugh. They're not under YOUR stairs. ;P
DeleteOMgoodness.....what a great list. I was cracking up at "my Martha Stewart wannabe stage." I love all the pictures you have accompanying your list. I cannot imagine having 8 golf bags in my garage (or another place). That is a lot!
ReplyDeleteHappy Listicles Monday!
Trust me...I couldn't imagine either. Until I saw them all the other day. Oish.
Deletesuch a perfect list! Are those colored frames from Ikea?
ReplyDeleteWhy yes...yes they are Robbie! Good eyes!! Do you need some??? :)
DeleteI see absolutely nothing wrong with having all those candles!! in fact, I fear you may not have enough. You shall be my partner if the zombie apocalypse hits!
ReplyDeletealso, because you have all those golf clubs which I am sure will come in handy too.
Just make sure you bring the sour patch kids and cheesy summer tunes partner. :)
Delete#5 totally made me giggle! I used to have some of those, but after the kids broke a few and we had too many kids to even pretend to have a use for them, I donated them. The golf bags are pretty good too!
ReplyDeleteYou would have reason to have 9 golf bags! Us...not so much. :)
