Happy 25th Weekaversary of TToT!
#TenThingsofThankful

This past week has been an emotional one to say the least. I was finding it a real challenge coming up with anything to be thankful for and had it not been the 25th Anniversary week I am pretty sure I would have opted out. I thought about going generic and listing 10 Thankful songs. Who doesn’t like music? Then I remembered “When the going gets tough…the tough drink wine”.

So after a few glasses here’s what I came up with…

1.      Lizzi for the second of 2 awards “The Sunshine Award” for being the LAST 10 people to post on last week’s TToT.  Go me!   PS…watch for my post(s) this coming week.

2.      I have been feeling guilty for not reading ALL the TToT posts. Then I reread the “suggestions” and it said “Please take time to have a look at some of the other posts submitted…” Phew! Sometimes I start at the top and work my way down. Sometimes I start at the bottom and work my way up. AND just because I am a rebel type…sometimes I start in the middle and work from right to left. So from now on, on the weeks that I am feeling panicked I am going to roll the dice and if your number comes up…you my friend will get some comment love.

3.      G was on a roll this week. I think he was feeling bad for me. This qualifies him for three list items all to himself. Number 1…he swished the swiffer around dusted. How did I notice?? Ask and you shall receive.

4.      G cleaned the bathrooms this week. If he commented at all he would loudly protest that he cleans the bathrooms ALL THE TIME. He does not comment so I feel no need to defend myself.

5.      Saving the best for last. These were on my laptop when I got home the other day. I only treat myself to them during the Christmas season. I have already eaten my way through 1 box. Joy to the World!

6.      Yesterday morning as we were heading out to Lori’s Library, Riley saying “Well…it’s time to go to work.” in his sing-song, happy voice. He makes me smile.

7.    After making a rookie mistake about a month ago I lost everything on a website I was working on. This week we are ready to go live *fingers crossed*. I am thankful for all the tech support people that helped me out…again!

8.      Having dinner with Riley’s other mom this week. Over the years we have had many of our own adventures together. I am so very thankful that we continue this tradition.

9.      I used to think conversations with spawn should happen verbally. Until we had teenagers. And texting. I love that at 20 years old, J2 will still share his excitement with me. Texting affords both of us that opportunity. After all…what 20 year old wants to be seen calling their mom when they are out.

10.   Friends. New, old, in real life and virtual. I have THE BEST ones!!

Click on the special TToT Weekaversary button (below) to pop over and check out the new TToT banner!  SO AWESOME!!!  While you are there Please take time to have a look at some of the other posts submitted…”  :D

I'm very glad Lizzi pimped me out and sent you to my TToT pos via twitter. :) She loves it when I go all "beth" and get a little craaaazy. We decided she and I would be downright dangerous if we got together IRL.

    7. Like Beth and Robbie, you had me at wine. Like Beth, you made me faint when you said your husband dusts and cleans bathrooms. WHAT?!?!??! I don't dare dream.

    8. Haahaa....his definition of dusting and cleaning isn't exactly mine but I don't complain...to him anyways. ;P

  3. You all and your conversations about your twitter conversations...am I curious? A bit. Will I fall for it? No. :)

I'm so glad you went ahead and wrote a thankful post. I'm sorry you had such a rough week, but look at the good things you found! You are very sweet to want to comment on every post in the hop. Do not feel guilty for not being able to do so. Just so you always read mine. Ha!

    Hope next week is better...
    Oh, and your husband rocks.

    1. So am I NOT the only one who is NOT on Twitter and Facebook and all that other stuff?

    2. Just so y'all know...I started on Twitter and caved to FB a year and a half ago. Not sure which is the lesser of two evils?!? But anybody who is anybody...is on Twitter. ;P

Thanks Christine! You know I'll always read yours...it comes to my inbox. Tee hee.

    3. no twitter and I think I may have a FB page that has nothing on it... just so I could sign up for something else... is that kosher?

    4. I loathe Facebook. See, I'm one of those people who just does not want to be "found" by the immediate world. Call me an anti-social introvert...oh yeah, that's because I am one.

      Twitter...I don't know. I completely don't get it.

    5. The one upside of FB is being able to connect with family who live on the opposite side of the country. That's why I finally caved...got tired of asking G to sign-on so I could see pics. :)

  4. I don't think we have Toffifee here, but I imagine they are great. You can't go wrong with chocolate and hazelnuts!

As for Twitter...AND SO YOU SHOULD APOLOGISE! Geeezzz...
(Do you think that will get Christine over there...tee hee).

  6. You are so funny trying to read ALL the TToT posts...I admit I would like to do that, but there are SO many and adding all the time. I love seeing all the different ways people do their TToT and all the things they are thankful for, though.

Your husband dusted and cleaned? Wow. Mine does, too, but I have to give him a specific list. It definitely helps get jobs done, but it would be so awesome to just be surprised.

  8. Well, I am happy to give you comment love this week. I used to stress because I couldn't get to everyone either, so I'm glad we're really off the hook!

OK so #5, I have never indulged in such a treat but you're really selling them, so I just mayhave too. They sounds Ah-mazing!

And #9...I loved it. I saw what you did there and I love that you pointed it out. Because sometimes such wit gets grossly over-looked. And I LOVE that it was your son you were texting...it's almost as though I can hear the eyes rolling as he typed his response. But that may be simply because I'm envisioning my 12yo (as a 20yo), and he has almost masterd the art of eye-rolling.

Thanks for a great list! :)

    1. And I am happy to receive comment love from you!!! :D

Oh yes...the art of eye-rolling gets mastered early on. It then moves to the "blank look" (when they finally figure out we can see them rolling their eyes) followed by just plain turning around and walking out of the room with no comment. Haha! I'm hoping as with J1...when they hit around 23...they become civil again. ;P

  9. I was thinking the same about my failure at times to hit all... but really just doing the best I can and enjoing every one I do get to hit!

  13. I was certain I responded to your post but I can't find my response because I feel guilt about not reading every single one. But the picture that made me certain I'd responded was that about the dusting. I don't mean to be a control freak in that area, but I have my stuff in my house positioned just so. If someone moves it around, I'll be sitting in a room talking and suddenly notice an item is 2 degrees to the right or left, rise, move the item back into place and continue with my conversation. I try to resist moving the item until my guest has left. But I can't. I have to move it right then. It is a problem. I could eat my way through a box of anything with toffee in it. In fact, just seeing that picture I'm reminded that we still have Halloween candy left. As soon as I'm done posting, I'm going to make my way downstairs and see if I can find something with carmel. I hope so. And on #7--I temp lost my blog this weekend. It is back up and running thanks to my nephew--but boy do I hope that never happens again. It was a heart stopper. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.

    1. Now that I think about it....I'm like you too! I will generally have to get up and "fix" something if I notice it's out of place. ;P I'm actually surprised G isn't more particular because generally he's all about his "sense of symmetry". Oi-vay.

If you haven't tried Toffifee...go...go now and buy some! You won't be disappointed. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

  14. I have read and commented on every post in TToT until this week. I simply ran out of time and energy. It happens.

I love that you have before and after dusting pictures.

So glad that Riley is still enjoying his library job! May it always be so!

Some of the best conversations I have with my son are via text.
