G's 15 Seconds of Fame...
#Ten Things of Thankful

While I may not always give G credit, he does do some things around here that I hate would rather not do. Over the last week or so I have found myself thanking him on more than a couple of occasions so I decided to give him his 15 seconds of fame.

Have no fear my friends, I am not dying. At least…I…I…don’t…think I am?!?  G???  Is there anything you want to tell me??

So here are some reasons (in point form since I’m late) G is worth keeping around…

1.      He cleans dirty shoes. Whether it be poop or just plain mud…G is your man.

2.      He does minor car maintenance. This week it was windshield washer fluid. G went to buy more washer fluid and refilled the tank. I used to do stuff like this myself. I don’t want to any more.

3.      He plays chauffeur. For the kids; for me and for my drunk intoxicated tipsy friends.

4.      He does the recycling. I rinse most things but leave the sorting to him.

5.      He irons. I prefer the ummm tousled look.

6.      I am a bug-a-phobe!!  He kills bugs. Enough said.

7.      He checked my hiking boots (that I haven’t worn in umpteen years) for bug carcasses before I had to wear them to go snowshoeing with R last weekend. Refer to number 6.

8.      He repairs furniture…eventually. Two months ago one leg of an old footstool broke off. I use that footstool. I have been balancing on 3 legs for two months now. He fixed my footstool this week.

9.      He sorta figured out how to put in R’s Greepers. He left the cutting to me…that way I can’t yell at him that he did it wrong! He’s learning.  :)

And that’s all I've got. Looks like G only gets 13.5 seconds of fame.


So I will leave you with this video snippet. The smallest things in life can bring the biggest smiles. Riley reminds me every day. 


We gave Puppy a bath (aka threw him in the washer) this weekend.

    Ohhhh puppy....you know anyone who cleans poop is a keeper....off to watch the Riley video

    How nice that you don't have to do everything you are capable of doing! Like your G, my husband also takes care of creepy-crawlys, and I do appreciate it.

      Unfortunately J2 is the same as me so whenever G's away...it's a battle to see who will take care of the creepy-crawlys or else we both scream and run away. Haahaa!

    Aw, what a nice way to do the TToT. You are one lucky lady to have a guy like G. (He's lucky to have you, too, of course.)
    I do the same thing after bringing my clean sheets in from the line. I know just how Riley feels. :)

      There is nothing sweeter than the fresh, clean smell of laundry! :D

    Poop and bugs are enough for me! Those are two of the Fab Hub's jobs and I am sooooo grateful. And the video is spectacular. Riley is just the best thing ever! Puppy's pretty cute, too.

    This list cracked me up. I used to be a clean freak, a everything had to be perfect freak. But the older I get, I just don't want to do certain things anymore and I leave them to my husband. And surprisingly, he does them. And him doing them makes me happy. (A lot of times I use the excuse that I'm writing--and much of the time I am. But wouldn't you think that excuse would get old? I hope not. At least until my manuscript is done!)

      EXACTLY!!! My tolerance for clutter and mess gets higher and higher the older I get. Ha!

      It's the little things that make me happy too. :D

    I have to force my guy to take care of bugs. He doesn't want to kill them...unless they're ants. I'm an equal opportunist. He'll start watching what they're doing until they run away to hide and crawl into my ears when I sleep. **shudder**

      I have the same reaction!!! If there's a bug in the bedroom...I can't sleep until it's DEAD!!!

    I am fairly certain the reason I married at all was for minor car maintenance, bug killer, and taking out the trash. It certainly was not his beat up Honda civic. HA!
    At least I tell him all those things, because while I tease - it is good to know that you are needed and appreciated.
    I gave all my kids stuffies baths this weekend too! they are so happy when their lovies are all clean and smelling great.

      Aren't they slick!!! R had a hard time with the Lock Laces. Saw these somewhere so ordered them. He hasn't tried them yet (will this Thursday) but they sure look easy. Keeping my fingers crossed. I'll keep you posted.

    I'm terrified of bugs so checking your boots for them makes me downright swoon. And I've never seen Greepers before - those are cool! So far, we've stuck to velcro closures but I love that I now have a new option! And clean puppy and Riley are adorable in their video!!

      Haahaa....I don't exactly swoon but I am most grateful!!! The thought of a carcass in my shoe....gives me the eeeebby-geeeebbbys.

      You could also try Lock Laces: http://www.locklaces.com/ We tried these but R had a hard time with the toggle.

    Yes - Riley's smile it the best (love seeing him smile)! Yes, G is a keeper. You forgot to mention he also
    takes awesome videos of your (awesome) dragon boat team. : ) Totally agree - puppy is pretty cute too.
