H is for Humble

If there was one word I would use as a descriptor for this pandemic it would be humbling.

COVID-19 has not discriminated based on race, religion, culture, social class or status. Nobody is exempt from getting it.

During this pandemic, medical personnel and first responders have been hailed as heroes and rightly so.

Yet another group of essential workers, who previously may have gone unnoticed by many, have also emerged as heroes. Grocery workers, factory workers and truckers just to name a few. Many who are underpaid, undervalued and unsupported.  They have kept us going. They truly deserve the recognition they are receiving.

One of my favourite songs is Humble and Kind (written by Lori McKenna and first released by Tim McGraw in January 2016). I loved it the first time I heard it.

In this version, Tim McGraw sings it ala social distancing. I hope you enjoy it.

  1. I guess the only good thing you can say about Covid 19 is that it doesn't discriminate (for the most part - people with pre-existing conditions are more susceptible, and some of those conditions are due to poverty or at least low incomes, but still).
